Why I Switched From Goodlife To The YMCA

People switch gyms all the time. It happens. Sometimes you just grow out of a gym or prices get too high and you feel like you can go to another place where you can get a better “bang for your buck”. This same thing happened to me when I switched from Goodlife Mississauga to the YMCA Mississauga.

The reason I switched from Goodlife to YMCA was because: firstly, I was paying a lot more than I wanted to at the time for a membership that I was not using too often. Then came the hard part…. when I felt like it was time to leave Goodlife it was not that easy. They constantly tried to keep you from leaving, trying to sell and sell. But I just wanted to get out! Then since you signed a “contract” you must either give it to a friend to finish off the contract or pay a fee, which was a real pain. So I finally gave in and paid the fee and I was free.

After a few months away from the gym a friend told me about the YMCA so I went and gave it a shot. I loved it and it had everything I needed, machines, free classes, open gym, pool, everything. The best part about it is that the YMCA does not restrict you to a contract. So I just pay month to month which is the best option for me.

So that is my story. What is your preference? Do you like being tied down to a contract or be able to pay month to month?
